New Patient Intake & Informed Consent

As a 55 year-old male committed to my own personal growth and transformation I have had a number of years of counseling and have participated in quite a variety of personal growth programs and retreats. I can say without hesitation that the Core Energetics work that I have done with JoAnn has led to more insights, growth and change in the short six months I have worked with her than any other person or modality of healing work that I have done. JoAnn’s ability to sense into groups and individuals, then guide them through specific practices tailored to their needs is nothing short of masterful. Her presence is clear, compassionate and insightful yet lovingly firm in getting participants to stay with uncomfortable, even frightening, feelings and sensations that arise when doing this work, then move the energy associated with these feelings and sensations through a variety of movements and actions that release the old holdings in our bodies. Her bag of tricks, so to speak, is extensive and she has an uncanny ability to chose just the right process for each participant in the group. In a recent phone session with her she was able to help me see how my current emotional response to my ex-partner was very much linked to and recreating an old childhood wounding. Through her gentle yet firm work with me I was able to re-experience that wounding and visualize an entirely different way of responding to it as both a child and, more importantly, as an adult. It was truly a gift that provided me a new, more confident and adult way of responding to any situation in which I feel attacked or judged. My work with her, I’m sure, will be of great benefit to me and to all those I come in contact with in the future.
